L.A. Noire

LA Noire is an upcoming video game developed by Team Bondi with Rockstar Games. It s set in "a perfectly re-created Los Angeles" of 1947, with players being given an open-ended challenge to solve a series of murder mysteries.

As the title suggests, the game draws heavily from both plot and aesthetic elements of film noir - stylistic films from the 1940s and 1950s that shared similar visual styles and themes including crime, sex and moral ambiguity and were often shot in black and white with harsh, low-key lighting. The game uses a distinctive coloring-style in homage to the visual style of film noir. The post-war setting is the backdrop for plot elements that reference the detective films of the '40s, such as corruption and drugs, with a classical jazz soundtrack.

L.A. Noire is also notable for using Lightsprint's real-time global illumination technology, as well as Depth Analysis's newly developed piece of technology for the film and video game industries called MotionScan, where actors are recorded by 32 surrounding cameras to capture facial expressions from every angle. With this technology the look of the characters in the game are almost life-like. Check out a few clips for it below. The game is due out May 17th in the US, May 20th in Europe.

Captain America: The First Avenger

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER is an upcoming superhero flick about the comic book superhero CAPTAIN AMERICA. The film stars Chris Evans (Fantastic Four) as Steve Rogers, deemed physically unfit for the US Army in World War II, until he signs up for Project: Rebirth. The film also stars Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving & Stanley Tucci. The film will be out July 22nd and the trailer is below.

Fast Five

Fast Cars, Robberies, Police Chases, Hot Babes. Another Fast & Furious movie is ready to be released in April 29th 2011. This one is called "Fast Five" and is the fifth installment of the series. Vin Diesel & Paul Walker return as Dom Toretto and Brian O'Conner, while Jordana Brewster returns as Mia Toretto. Tyrese Gibson & Ludacris return from the second movie in their roles, while Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson plays a federal agent. Should be another epic in the franchise the trailer is below.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

The official first trailer of the latest offering from the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise entitled "Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides".

Here is the press release from Disney about the movie:

"Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penélope Cruz), and he's not sure if it's love—or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know whom to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past."

The film will not include actors Orlando Bloom & Keira Knightley, but Geoffrey Rush will return for his role as Captain Barbossa. Keith Richards will also feature again as Jack's father. The film is set for release May 20th 2011.

Transformers 3

The official trailer for the latest Transformers movie has been released. This is the one without Megan Fox, shame. Instead Shia LaBeouf's character SAM WITWICKY will have a new love interest played by ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY. Trailer is below and is due to be released July 1 2011.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Well its that time of year for when all keen gamers go into hibernation in their rooms, because Call of Duty's latest offering BLACK OPS was released yesterday.
