Alex Williamson is an Aussie stand up comedian, who posts plenty of hilarious stuff on youtube. From sketches and segments involving safe sex, sexting, drugs, the continuing NRL & AFL sex scandals, and of course Ben Cousins. I'll post some of his videos below, certainly some funny segments. Here's a little more about Alex, courtesy of his official website:
"After watching Jurassic Park as a 5 year old, Alex Williamson knew exactly what he wanted to do in life – get involved in film…whether he was directing, writing, acting or just making coffee for Sam Neill between takes. He also wanted to start a Dinosaur amusement park, but luckily his father talked some sense into him with a length of hard bamboo.
Growing up in the small country town of Willunga in South Australia, Alex discovered there wasn’t much to do, which inspired him to get his first video camera at the age of 15. Alex then began to film various artistic pieces of cinema with his friends (throwing water-bombs at cars on the highway) and developed his technical skills through his high school media studies, and his social etiquette skills through 6 hour Seinfeld marathons.
Alex has been a stand up comedian in Adelaide for several years now, performing at venues such as The Rhino Room, Pj O’Brians, The Highway and the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds since he was 18. He was a state finalist in Triple J’s Raw Comedy in 2009, and also had the opportunity to participate in the the Sammy D Charity Gala in 2010, where he performed alongside Arj Barker, Tom Gleeson, Wil Anderson and Damian Callinan.
His involvement and obsession with sport, in particular Australian Rules Football, prompted him to utilize his media skills and acting ability to produce a short film about an obsessed AFL ‘Dream Team’ Coach (2009). The success of these videos resulted in Alex having a segment on Channel 7′s AFL Gameday (2009), which appeared on sunday mornings on television sets right around Australia.
Since then Alex has produced comedy videos alongside some of the AFL’s most talented players (Embley, Tippett, Motlop, Porplyzia). Along with his various online sketches, Alex has also been involved in two successful online web series, ‘Too Easy’ (Alex Williamson, David M. Green 2010) and ‘Lapse in Motivation’ (Alex Williamson, Jack Ellis 2010).
A move to Melbourne beckons, as Alex begins to understand there are limited opportunities in Adelaide (none)."
